Good, bad or indifferent, businesses have been looking to improve processes from the advent of “profit”. Accounting has been no exception to process improvement. However, Accounts Payable has been a slow adaptor of process change. There are a lot of reason, but the biggest seems to be that current processes are all that bad. It’s one thing when a business has an “overt” problem which needs to be fixed, but it another thing when the process is ok or fine and the business decides to concentrate on other more processing problems. In order to automate Accounts Payable you must have a good reason like a return on investment or a need to additional time from employees.
