Guess what I got in the mail?

I was sitting in my office, and I’m sure I was doing something important, when a very well dressed co-worker dropped off a package. It was none only than the final proof to my third book. This one I am very excited about, but also extremely nervous about it. I have also done more “field” research for this book than all of the other books I’ve written combined.  I’ve done over 14 years of research–countless nights and weekends with multiple focus groups.

I hope the build up is enough, because it is my long-awaited children’s book, The Paper and the Princess!

That’s right, a children’s book. I got this idea at church when I realized that I was getting more out of the children’s message than I was getting out of the “big sermon”. I thought I was giving the pastor a pat on the back when I told him how great his children’s messages were, and that I got more out of them. He told me that he had a professor in college that said if anyone tells you your children’s message are better than your adult sermons, then you are terrible at giving sermons. So, that didn’t work as planned.

I think there is a lot to be said for taking a simple approach to a complex situation, so I wrote the book. More to come on its release!
